01 Remove Fuse

| This fuse is the protection between power supply and the RS2004FS. When you unsolder this fuse you cut the RS2004FS's power supply. On the top part of the mainboard you have those 2 solder spots and those are exactely the two points where this fuse "used to" connect to. And then on top you resolder this fuse or another one together with the current limiter. You now technically replaced the fuse on the bottom with the same fuse ans a current limiter on top, that became the RS2004FS's new current limited power supply ;-) Good luck with soldering! |

| And a second note: IF you would not unsolder this fuse, nothing would really go wrong, but this fuse would just blow up as soon as you turn on the PSTwo. The current limiter would create a voltage difference over it's two connections and the fuse has an almost 0 resistance -> current through it will be high and it will blow. When you DO unsolder it you can re-use it in the current limiter or keep it as a spare part. | ||

| I got this unit in for repair, have since replaced the laser assembly (including the spindle motor and ribbon cable), so now I suspect a bad RS2004FS IC. This unit was also part of a power supply recall and now has the new one from Sony, could simply replacing this fuse be my solution? | ||
