"van Drunen" is my family name and originates from the Netherlands a.k.a. Holland. Holland is a small country (pop 16.2 million) in western Europe, with neighbouring countries: Great Brittain, Germany and Belgium/France. "Drunen" is a small city in "Noord Brabant", a province in the south of the Netherlands. |

"van Drunen" literally means "from Drunen". Appearently the first generation
of van Drunen's lived in Drunen in the time of Napoleon. Nowadays they live
all over the world, a lot still in the Netherlands but during/after World War II
a lot of them emigrated to the United States, Canada and Australia to escape
from the war and by war devastated cities, industry and economy. | |
| I live in Waalwijk, a slightly bigger city (pop 43.000) 4 km west of Drunen. My sister, her husband and their two children live in Drunen, only 15 minutes biking away. I have made a Photo tour of a bike ride from my home in Waalwijk to my sister's home in Drunen while making a few detours and extra stops at interesting sights (the city centres, my old highschool, the local coffee shop, etc.). | |
